Local wordsmith Perla Sarabia Johnson isn’t messing around with her dangerous, morphing, epidemic-involving sci-fi so don’t pass off this former media maven for a softie. In fact, Johnson even sets her thriller, Global Warning, in both her home city of Miami and her current dispatch–Big D. Can protag Dustin Jones save the world…and few humans to boot? You’ll have to read the book to find out, but for an extra bonus, dish a bit with Johnson herself from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Richardson Public Library, 900 Civic Center Drive. The event is free; books will be available for purchase ($20).
