We know — the economic times are hard. We believe that our work of reporting on the critical stories unfolding right now is more important than ever.

We need to raise $6,000 to meet our goal by August 10. If you’re able to make a contribution of any amount, your dollars will make an immediate difference in helping ensure the future of local journalism in Dallas. Thanks for reading the Dallas Observer.

The holidays aren’t just about getting together with family, giving each other crap that we don’t need and seeing how much ham and pie we can stuff into ourselves before we collapse and require a stomach pump. It’s also about learning ways that we can help our fellow man and doing what we can to ensure that they also have a merry Christmas. Nouveau 47 can help show you the ways to make someone else’s Christmas a little brighter with a series of short, holiday inspired plays in their annual “A Very Nouveau Holiday” at the Margo Jones Theater in Fair Park’s Magnolia Lounge (1121 1st Ave.). Hey, it’s either enjoy an evening of quality theater or have three whiny ghosts visit you in the middle of the night. The show opens at 8:15 p.m. Thursday and runs through December 21. More information at margojonestheatre.com.
