Khan might be remembered in Western circles as a rapacious warlord, but to many central Asians he's the father of a culture who unified his people, created borders that exist into modern times and supposedly gave rise to such innovations as passports, postal services and even pants. The world tour of Genghis Khan: The Exhibition invades the Irving Arts Center with interactive displays and the largest collection of 13th century Mongolian artifacts ever gathered together. The exhibit explores nomadic and spiritual life in Mongolia, the military campaign that forged the largest land empire in history and a cultural legacy that continues to this day. The exhibit runs from Wednesday to September 30 and is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays (last entry time is 6:30 p.m.) at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N.
