Before he was Tom Haverford on Parks and Rec, Aziz Ansari starred in the video sketch series Human Giant. And before both of those things, the major venue stand-up comedy tours, television specials and wildly enthusiastic reviews from Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, Ansari was a gangly kid in New York with a super addictive website. He’d record heartfelt bits about falling in love with MIA or tour New York City playing the world’s shittiest mixtape on a boombox and generally make fun of indie hipster pretension. There’s always been something different about this one, and Dallas gets to see him on his own and all grown up when Aziz Ansari brings his third national tour of all-new material to the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie (1001 Performance Place) at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets cost $32 to $38. Visit verizontheatre.com.
